The SCB Series Dry Type Transformer is designed for reliable medium voltage power distribution in industrial, commercial and infrastructure applications. With a dry insulation system and no insulating oil, it provides a practical solution for indoor power distribution where space, safety and maintenance requirements are important.
The transformer is available in different rated capacities and voltage configurations to meet the requirements of various electrical distribution systems. It can be used independently or integrated into a prefabricated substation, medium voltage distribution system or low voltage power distribution network.
The SCB series can be customized according to project requirements, including transformer capacity, primary and secondary voltage, vector group, impedance and installation conditions.
Oil Free Design: No insulating oil is required, making it suitable for indoor electrical rooms and installations where oil-filled equipment is not preferred.
Reliable Power Distribution: Designed for stable operation in medium voltage distribution systems.
Low Maintenance: Dry insulation construction simplifies routine maintenance compared with oil-filled transformer systems.
Flexible Installation: Suitable for factories, commercial buildings, infrastructure facilities and other indoor distribution applications.
Compact Configuration: Can be installed close to the load center to help optimize the power distribution layout.
Customizable Solution: Transformer capacity, voltage combination and other technical parameters can be configured according to project requirements.
Dry Type Insulation: Designed without liquid insulating oil for indoor and selected special installation environments.
Efficient Magnetic Core: The transformer core uses high-quality grain-oriented silicon steel to help reduce no-load losses.
Reliable Winding Structure: Windings are designed to provide stable electrical and mechanical performance during normal operation.
Temperature Monitoring: Temperature monitoring and protection devices can be configured according to customer requirements.
Cooling Options: Air natural cooling can be used for standard applications, while forced air cooling can be considered for specific load requirements.
Flexible Protection: Different enclosure and protection configurations can be selected according to the installation environment.
Project Customization: Voltage, capacity, impedance, vector group and other parameters can be customized based on the approved technical specification.

The dry type transformer can be integrated with MV switchgear and LV distribution equipment to form a compact prefabricated substation according to project requirements.
When selecting a dry type transformer, the following technical parameters should be confirmed:
Capacity (kVA): Select the transformer capacity according to the connected load and expected future load.
Primary Voltage: Confirm the medium voltage system, such as 10kV or 11kV.
Secondary Voltage: Confirm the required low voltage, such as 400V, 415V or 480V.
Vector Group: Dyn11 is commonly used in distribution applications, subject to the project electrical system.
Impedance (%Z): Select according to the short-circuit level and protection coordination requirements.
Cooling Type: AN cooling is suitable for standard applications; AF forced-air cooling can be considered where additional capacity is required.
Installation Environment: Confirm whether the transformer will be installed in an indoor electrical room, containerized substation or another environment.
Protection Requirements: Select the appropriate enclosure and protection configuration according to the installation conditions.
Install the transformer on a level and suitable foundation.
Ensure sufficient ventilation and heat dissipation around the transformer.
Maintain the required electrical clearances according to the approved drawings and applicable local regulations.
Use the designated lifting points when handling the transformer.
Do not lift or move the transformer from unauthorized components.
Check the transformer and accessories before commissioning.
Installation and commissioning should be carried out by qualified electrical personnel according to the applicable electrical codes and project requirements.
A dry type transformer is a transformer that does not use liquid insulating oil. It uses a solid or dry insulation system and is widely used for indoor medium voltage power distribution.
The main difference is the insulation and cooling medium. A dry type transformer does not use insulating oil, while an oil immersed transformer uses transformer oil for insulation and heat dissipation. The appropriate type depends on the installation environment, capacity and project requirements.
Dry type transformers can be manufactured for different voltage systems. Common medium voltage configurations include 10kV and 11kV, with the low voltage side commonly configured at 400V, 415V or other project-specific voltages.
SCB series dry type transformers can be supplied in different capacities. Our available range can cover approximately 30 kVA to 2500 kVA, subject to the specific model and technical requirements.
