Product Overview

The ZW32 series outdoor pole-mounted vacuum circuit breaker is a three-phase AC outdoor primary switching device rated for 12kV (available in 24kV and 40.5kV variants upon request), 50Hz/60Hz power systems. Designed with advanced vacuum arc interruption and solid insulation technology, this circuit breaker is engineered to safely break and close load currents, overload currents, and short-circuit currents in power distribution networks.

With a compact three-phase pillar structure, the ZW32 offers reliable performance in harsh outdoor environments, making it an ideal solution for substations, industrial and mining distribution systems, rural electrification projects, and frequent-operation scenarios.

Vacuum Arc Interruption Technology

Equipped with high-performance vacuum interrupters (ceramic shell with copper-chromium contacts), the ZW32 delivers stable and reliable breaking performance with minimal contact wear. The vacuum arc extinguishing chamber is sealed within each phase's insulated sleeve, eliminating the risk of combustion or explosion.

Three-Phase Separated Pillar Structure

The independent phase pillar design prevents three-phase short circuits when a single-phase fault occurs, significantly enhancing system reliability and safety.

Superior Insulation Performance

Each phase pillar utilizes APG (Automatic Pressure Gelation) integral casting technology with silicone rubber or epoxy resin insulation materials. This provides:

  • Excellent hydrophobicity and pollution resistance

  • Enhanced resistance to ozone, UV radiation, and aging

  • Anti-condensation properties suitable for humid and harsh climates

Flexible Operating Mechanism

Available with two types of operating mechanisms:

  • Spring operating mechanism – low energy consumption, high reliability, direct-drive transmission

  • Permanent magnet mechanism – minimal action time dispersion, ideal for frequent operations, truly maintenance-free

Both support manual and electric operation modes.

Fully Sealed & Durable Enclosure

The circuit breaker housing is constructed from high-quality stainless steel with a fully sealed design. The enclosure achieves IP67 protection rating, providing excellent resistance against moisture, rust, condensation, and dust ingress. It is oil-free and environmentally friendly.

Optional Isolation Switch

An integrated isolation switch can be added to provide a visible isolation breakpoint with reliable mechanical interlocking, preventing misoperation.

Smart Grid Ready

When paired with an intelligent controller (FTU), the ZW32 supports distribution automation functions including:

  • Remote control (remote open/close)

  • Remote measurement (real-time voltage/current monitoring)

  • Remote signaling (status indication)

  • Remote adjustment (parameter configuration)

The breaker can automatically detect, isolate, and report faults, and restore power to non-faulted sections.
